Another action to watch - Treehouse AvatarThis action was launched in May 2015 in Delaware and transfered to Washington in 2017 (lots of Covid delays) against Valve with regards to Avatars used in online video games “Team Fortress 2” “Dota 2,” “Portal 2,” and other video games (e.g Counterstrike and Steam platform) that Valve makes, uses, offers to sell, sells, or imports into the United States which may infringe at least one claim of the ’858 Patent. The '858 Patent was issued in May, 2012 - so it has a lot of forward life.
The judge has just dimissed Valve's Summary Judgement motion. Daubert motions (mostly dealing with expert testimony) are still before the court. Once they have been ruled, the court will set the court date.
