Another reason to believe that the Motorola settlement was significant was Quarterhill`s apparent wish to have it signed before quarter end so that they can report on it with Q3 earnings. If it was a smail amount they probably wouldn`t have been in a rush to sign and perhaps they would have preferred to bury the settlement early in Q4 so that it was mostly forgotten about when Q4 earnings are announced in 2022.
