In fact, I believe the search began as IRD GM- Europe pre the ETC acquisiton; the search specs more than likely changed with the ETC deal. Given the amount of time the job has been posted, I'm almost 100% certain there was a reset on the hire. It would be incomprehensible to me if ETC and IRD were not joined at the hip in Europe. IRD has street cred there and that is more likely the reason than nationality, but you make a valid point.
