It is quite something to behold the current negativity in the market toward Quarterhill. My recollection is that on the day the company announced the Micron settlement the stock didn't go up at all. Maybe down a penny?
But the news of this (Treehouse / Valve), what I'd think must be a relatively minor Wilan disappointment, comes out and the stock is hammered.
Of course it was a disappointment. It would have been better to win. So not a surprise the stock fell.
But what a contrast to the market's total non-reaction to the Micron settlement.
I'd suggest that this fits with one thing I've suggested here from time to time, that there's little to be gained in management spending much time or money in reaching out to the investment community. For sure talk to analysts that actually want to cover the stock. But beyond that . . . pretty much the only thing Bay Street / Wall Street will remember is results.
