I have been a shareholder since 1999.  Nice to see some momentum back in this stock.  The fundamentals are promising. I know it does not apply to Quartehill since they are loaded with cash, but this kind of sudden share price increase (without news) is usually seen when a broker has agreed with a company for a financing and they are setting the share price accordingly. That's an impressive amount of time in this stock. I came in 2008 and this (along with one other) we're the only two "losers" I've ever held more than a year or two. IMO there are a number of factors at play Astutein.  Here is my non-exhaustive list, reported and speculative.  In no particular order: Pre-release of Q3 top line results; Momentum picking up  on financing of IP monetization/litigation speaks to a longer term, positive view of the sector; Intel license signals that deals can get done quickly and amicably - leading to a

I'm beginning to think someone is looking to take us over and is looking to gobble up shares on the cheap before they formally make their intentions known.  The aggressive nature of the buying just doesn't feel like multiple investors figuring things out to me.  One thing that argues against this is why would the buyer drive up the price of the stock before they announce their

This is quite possible.  I dont think its all institutions just buying up for this many days. Looks like accumulation to me as well.  We are up 50% since the low right before the pre-annoucement at $1.78. Thats a pretty signigicant move and we have more legs to move about 3+.

Anyone recall the trading frenzy that went on leading up to the Modaid takeover? That day I called it, while trading was going crazy i called a takeover and we are the acquirer. Sure enough, after market close, it was all over 680 news and BNN, Wilan launches hostile bid for mosaid. What a dramatic few months that was. That was the beginning of the demise for many years.
