200 DMA

Anyone else think we are technically going to be tagging the 200DMA as a long term support base?
Comment by wilander on Mar 12, 2021 3:28pm
Asking or hoping?  You did say you sold most.  Looking for a re-entry are ya?  ;)
Comment by v_guerriero on Mar 12, 2021 3:44pm
Asking objectively.  I see two major support lines.  The 2.50-2.55 and 200DMA.  It bounced at the first one yesterday.  It will bounce again or take out the 2.50 stop position trading.   I am holding the stock.  Over 100k shares.  But I risk manage positions.  So yes, I am thinking about reentry points.   These guys are b*stards and maybe I would do ...more

Hopefully, now that they are in Toronto a few of us will show up and actually put their feet to the fire a bit.  Particularly about options. But I doubt it.

QTRH has doubled in the past year and is +15% since Hill signed on.
Comment by wilander on Mar 12, 2021 3:52pm
lets not play that game cabbie. anyone here long term is only doing okay because they averaged down and bought a lot more in the $2's. we also thus know how quickly it can go back. $2.60 is not an acceptable SP.  not for me at least.
Comment by wilander on Mar 12, 2021 3:54pm
Sorry, meant the $1's.  ($1.30-1.50)

not for me either Wilander.  Just pointing out what has happened.  I think the performance since Hill joined is relevant, unless he is tarred for teh sins pof his father.  Not all shaoreholders are lifers like many on this board.
Comment by wilander on Mar 12, 2021 4:08pm
Relevant?  When Hill does something substantial -- Real and market moving acquisitions -- he will get my praise.  Til then he is just looking like another lame duck. Anyway.  Good weekend all.
Comment by HardRockAngel on Mar 12, 2021 6:37pm
Agree, Hill has done squat since he arrived.  He doesn't get credit for the 15% increase in a badly beat down stock price.  At this point, he is not a lame duck but simply another one eating at the trough.  Not saying he may not be capable but jury is still out.....HRA

Maybe if he is as mush as a d!ck to acquisition targets like he is to shareholders he might be able to drive a good bargain on these companies. But what a jackass for 0 deals in the qtr.  Astonishing.   I was also wondering how to reach out to John Rim at Quarterhill.  I started righting it last name first Rim.John@quarterhill.com  I bet the folks at quarterhill have a ...more

I am not impressed with John Rim's performance on the quarterly call.  He couldn't even read the script his IR team provided him.  Parker hired him.  Sounds like a newly minted MBA from a bottom tier school. Ugly finish on the stock today.  Chart is broken on the medium term.  Accelerating volume selling on the bid.  We will see if it holds the 2.50-2.55 ...more

v_guerriero Weren't you the one that originally hypothecized they hit their 2020 fiscal numbers and weren't too  surprized they might have diverted some deals to get a good start on 2021?   If they did, perhaps Q1 will be another redeeming quarter with the LG agreement and the alledged Q4 deferrals of rev. Maybe another announcement in the next 2 weeks. That would be a big ...more

16% trading return in less than two months is an annualized 100% gain when I went all in late January.  This includes the loss I've taken on my current position.  You never lose money taking profits. I know Socrates doesn't believe in moving averages but it was clear something was up when after the LG news there was significant sell volume.  Someone knew and was ...more

You would be hard pressed to find a stock on the TSX that over the past year,  in retrospect, you could not profit from trading the highs vs the lows.  However, using the basic relative deviation details that most traders use in decisions about which stocks to trade, Quarterhill is far down this list of candidates.  There are letterally hundreds of better candidates from which to ...more

Quarterhill have never cared about the common share holder , Parker was a bust and now Hill is giving the same prognostications Skippen use to drivel about. This company has value but it needs to get into the hands of somebody who can extract it. How long to we wait is the big question, the dividend is too small  for the wait and see approach.
