Elmwood School Bus paid for by Wilan?

...in 2014 Wilan's profit was about 9m, but had an 18m loss in 2013.

Also, Wilan's deficit in 2014 was over $200m. Also had about $100m tax losses, so any "donation" could not result in tax savings.

FS were in $US at the time.

What did bus cost in 2014? 100k? 200k? More?

What was the business justification for the spending?

What example was set?

What was and is, the "tone at the top" ?

Jim and Pam Skippen are listed as $25K+ donors. Wilan was a sponsor. That makes a difference, as it is advertising. Who knows if Wilan paid anything. Maybe it was a freebie or small cost because the Skippens ponies up $25K or more. It's 8 years ago. Why don't you email Jim Skippen and ask him. Lets keep our eyes on the important prizes.

Agree Elmwood is ancient history and rehashing it doesn't serve any purpose.

The insinuation by another poster was it was Wilan $. The brochure implies some Wilan $. You are right about the big picture, but the standards etc of those on the BoD are part of the big picture. So I would like to know the facts.

Shareholders, your interest in history is great, but you need to know that some posters have a real hard on for Jim Skippen. Goes back to ~2006. When you hear Elmwood Private School, the Elmwood bus, the Bill's, relocation from Calgary etc., it's a signal that these posters probably have an agenda. Best we all keep our eyes on the ITS and Apple prizes. QTRH is being dealt some really good ...more

One of the few rights shareholders have is to elect the BoD Cabbie: "it's a signal that these posters probably have an agenda. Best we all keep our eyes on the ITS and Apple prizes. QTRH is being dealt some really good cards right now." I do not have a very long history or agenda, but I caution that people with valid complaints are sometimes too quickly dismissed as 'having an ...more

Shareholders, I totally agree with your post and with your statement, "But we are shareholders, and one of the few rights shareholders have is to elect the BoD." I've always voted for BoD and other motions on the AGM agenda since I've held this stock - usually for, but not always.  Usually about one-third of shares cast votes.  The overwhelming majority of votes cast ...more
