Still can't believe this

With businesses booming post pandemic and gyms/restaurants having record sales, along with the WELL opening very soon, we are at $22 when we should be north of $25.  Sickening man.

Riocan Shareprice over past 17 years

In 2005, this also traded at $22.75.  So my question is that how that in 17 years with: Tons of new developments like resedential etc and  capital recycling Post 2008 financial ...more

LOCK AND LOADED: UP TO $30 WE GO

I'd be scared if I was short or sold.  REITS will have phenomenal leasing in the post-covid world.  2% interest rates won't stop this rally.

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Sudden hatred for all reits

USA fed mandates 2 topics. Full employment and 2% inflation.   Canada fed is single minded, protect currency from inflation.

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Sudden hatred for all reits

I did not say the goal of BoC is to protect home prices. BoC goals is to reduce inflation without pushing us into recession/unemployment. Beyonfd  2%, economy will slip into recession and ...more

You seem to assume that BOC main mandate is to protect the home owners from decline in sales and home prices. This view is different from what BOC governor has called out several times. Mandate is to ...more

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Sudden hatred for all reits

I believe when interest rates reach around 1.5%, we will see growth decline and then BoC will start cutting rates

RE:RE:RE:RE:Sudden hatred for all reits

No way it's gonna be more than 2%. Already home sales are down. If it goes beyond 2%, house sales will collapse. https://financialpost.com/executive/executive-summary/posthaste-the-way-the-housing ...more

RE:RE:RE:RE:Sudden hatred for all reits

Once interest rates get to 1.5-2% the economy will be hitting a hard recession and maybe a depression.  Who is going to borrow money at that rate and defaults will come hard and heavy.   ...more

RE:RE:RE:Sudden hatred for all reits

I guess you haven't heard interest rates will rise lots more.  Normal interest rate is 4~5% and we will get there within a year or two.

RE:RE:Sudden hatred for all reits

Interest rates were 1.75% pre covid and this was trading around 25$. BoC was about to cut interest rates then as economy was slowing. Now I think interest rates will be around 1 and 2% forever.

Tried to warn rei holders 12 to 24 months ago

This former high flier is now mundane at best.  Rising interest rates are bad for real estate values, get out while you can.
