I have been slowly building up a GIC ladder over the past 2 years so I have been watching GIC rates closely
The one credit union I have been using seems to be pretty accurate with it's predictions because they would bump their rates about a week before the BOC announcements. Mind you the time frame is relatively short, so maybe it's a coincidence
Fact of the matter is they dropped all their rates July 7 about .15% on their 1 yr and 18 monthers while leaving the 2+ yr unchanged
Just my view, but I think the BOC will hold off
