Nine dollars, maybe...This board has grown hilarious with posters trying to manufacture a story that explains the RVX share price. The real story isn't being discussed at all, not the science, not the patents, not the huge potential drug markets involved and certainly not the fact that the pharmas have no place to go except to RVX. Today's press release is an attempt to remind investors of that but investors think they know best so it will be ignored. You're not interested in the message. You're only interested in what people think of the message. You will sell me cheap shares as a result.
We have folks begging RVX to provide updates, to throw us a bone despite RVX having told us in a press release that they won't be releasing these updates. We have a very reasoned post (chgo) that explains how DM could get around this. It was a good post, chgo, but I don't agree with it at all. Your requests, which seem reasonable on the surface, ask for almost meaningless information. For instance, every pharma is going to grab a free look at the data room, whether they're really interested or not. Who cares how many tire-kickers there are?
And what about providing non-specific and innocuous updates about the bidding or negotiations? That totally ignores the fact that DM and his team are the ones on the ground, the ones who know what's going on and that the bidders are calling the shots on this type of press release. Any update is meaningful to other bidding pharmas. The pharmas operate on the principle that they are bidding against every other pharma whether they actually are or not. It will never happen. We have to live with the blackout.
Traderchief has asked you to ignore the RVX story, the facts as we know and understand them. Ignore RVX, he says, pay attention to only the market. This advice is coming from a person with the alias "Trader" Chief, who has every interest in causing the stock to drop one hour and to race upward the next. Couple that with the conspiracy mentality he brags of and we have a successful trader waiting with The Big Bucket for RVX shares to drop in price. (Even funnier is the first-person plural pronoun Traderchief uses, the Royal "We". "We think", "We speculated", as in my big rich, professional, understands-all, smarter-than-you group. We don't need to be paranoid conspiracy theorists to figure out this guy (and his big group). God save our gracious Traderchief, long live our noble Traderchief... Yeah, right!!)
So will the final RVX buyout price be determined by the stock market? I think that's preposterous. The pharmas will decide it and the share price will eventually reflect the pharmas' opinions and not the other way around.
But if you believe that the market will decide and if you hold this stock, then why are you undermining your own interests with your foolish postings here? All you're doing here is displaying your weakness of conviction, knowledge and expectations in front of 500 readers who hold untold numbers of RVX stock. If I were a pharma dealing with a weak management I'd just wait for you all to sell your shares at a new low each day until I could make a lowball offer of a 50% premium on $8 or something like that. Fortunately the RVX management is not weak. The insiders own enough stock so that the pharmas can't possibly deal with the weak shareholders posting here or in the market at large.
When it turns around, as it will after another bounce or two, or six, you'll be falling all over yourselves trying to explain how there must be a deal imminent or that a big buyer must be in the market, something that will have little to do with any new specific real knowledge.
And for those like CADMAN who foolishly says he'll buy when RVX has enough money and the story is better or whatever, go ahead and wait for a much higher price at which to buy because there is a price for uncertainty and another for its opposite. RVX is one of the few you'll ever see where the story has extremes sufficient to warrant early buying.
Will it test $9? Yes, I think it will. It won't change much though. Still the same RVX, only grown more valuable with time and progress. The market will eventually agree with that.
