Jk, there will never be a pill to treat obesity because it's a lifestyle choice. The solution is far simpler but eludes the vast majority. Ditch the TV, get outside and walk, garden, bike. Stop filling up on nutrient deficient edibles ( I don't even want to call it food because that implies some nutritional basis). No pills needed for this. If however one eats to quell emotional issues, there are pills for that.
The major policy change that needs to take place is to start teaching children in school about healthy food choices and serving sizes. Increase taxes on fast food outlets and decrease their density. Next time you go to a mall, look at all the people sitting in the food courts. Chances are most of them will be overweight or obese. What I always wonder is why people spend so much time in shopping malls that they need to eat 3 times.
