Vale will continue to make even more money with Voisey bay project. Sherritt is a low cost producer but when you factor in all associated costs its not making any money at $6.30 nickel, just look at last quarter's financial statements. Plus last quarter there nickel minning business losses was offset by profitable oil, power, fertilizer operation. I don't think $7nickel will produce profits either :+( When you incl intrest expense, bloated front office and salaries, repairing & buying new equipment for an old mine plus this "tailings" talk that I'm still assessing, costs go up significantly to produce a pound of nickel. The only reason why Sherritt has a chance to get out of their financial hole that they have been burying themselves in for the past decade is because they produce a nice chunk of cobalt & cobalt is on fire now. If the fire cools of, then you will see the nickel part of the mine is useless, unless as I noted before, they need $10lb nickel pricing to profit. Its because of their value added cobalt share that costs are offset by a large margin....I still hold Sherritt, but only because I bought them at absolute rock bottom prices. I'm not adding to my position and have no urge to do so, yes I'm cautious and my finger isn't to far from the "dump" button!!!!!!!! Cobalt prices closed below $40 this week, actually $38.10, so yes if cobalt continues to weaken it affect Sherritt in a very big way. My honest opinion is.........I like to see a growth story. Moa is mature possibly shrinking, ambatovy(no comment, it sucks) the bitumen technology dosent do it for me sorry......I guess I'm hopping for a big block 10hit :+) it would be nice to produce significant amount of oil in Cuba once again. But even a big hit would take a year or so to get it producing. But atleast there is something positive to focus on. I really think we need mgmt shakedown, its getting pretty stale there in Toronto, we need new ideas and fresh minds. The stock is dead and baystreeters have lost confidance in pathe and company!!!!!
