RE:RE:Giga Metals and MitsubishiYou asked, WTF doesn't Japan just buy S?  Simple.  Sumitomo keeps reminding everyone about Ambatovy!

DI'd you actually read the article? The best was the last. All I needed to know about giga is right here. Will the Japanese invest in anything, everything, nothing or WTF is a 15 year payback and 5% IRR in yen? Something better than total cr@p? Meanwhile sherritt trades at 1X @ ???  Why TF doesn't japan buy sherritt instead ??? other than fear of another nuclear bombing ?
Initial capital costs were pegged at $1.4 billion, with $2 billion budgeted for sustaining capital over the life of the mine. Based on prices of $7.50 per lb nickel and $22.30 per pound of cobalt, the study outlined an after-tax internal rate of return of 4.9%. Initial capex could be paid back in just under 15 years.

Giga's CEO is Martin Vydra who worked with S for decades. He ran their Moa operations and their Technologies group.  Heard him speak at a couple of conferences.  The guy knows his stuff.
