I'm not sure how old your source is, but with regards to Cenovus Ian Delaney resigned back in 2018 as noted in company's press release dated March 6, 2018.

Ian Delaney, who has been a member of the Board since Cenovus’s inception in 2009, will retire as a director at the conclusion of the company’s annual meeting of shareholders in April of this year(2018).
