RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:DOE latest report - Nickel I think fondly back to the real estate downturn of the early '90s.  It was the first serious money I made as a short seller.  Trust companies with significant real estate exposures went bankrupt one after another.  I also bought a house in Toronto in 1993 which had been a $1m+ house prior to the downturn but which I was able to buy for $575k.  Those were the days.
