I do see they might have a management problem as these guys are in charge mostly since 2012. So the disaster in Madagascar is obviously not their fault. But probably the oil exploration in Cuba, which really didnt make any sense on my view...

I m bullish on Nickel. But I ll see if Sherritt is the right company for it... they seem to be cheap, but true: the company seems to be oversized. Maybe a good M&A target therefore? Like taking them over and kicking out management?

There will be no M&A. This mine was and is owned by the communist cuban government. Its not like sherritt can make deals with third parties in regards to the future MOA. I suspect cuba will probably give them the boot sooner or later. They may have brought in sherritt 20 years ago ( when Delaney went on a drinking binge with Castro, who loved to drink and party till sunrise, and convinced him ...more

I also want to add that most of the executives have very little to no shares in the company. There are too many of them and they could care less about the share price. This is probably the worst nickel stock you can buy, even worse than the fly by night junior companies. Please don't make the same mistake as some of us here because this company still fails at $10 due to Cuban collorabation and ...more

Stratochief They screwed up big time on coal and oil ventures. At least Ambatovy aligned with the core metals business. As far as M&A, Russia's NILSY would be the only logical suitor for Cuba to partner with. The problem would be how to get around the issue of Sherritt being a Canadian firm with Canadian operations. Canada hates Russia so they would block any such move by NILSY. Plus NILSY ...more
