Just one more thing. You know my mother bought Nortel at 40 dallars a share 25 years ago . When it got to 20 dallars I asked her when shes going to sell . Guess what she said . The same thing I've heard a thous times , I'm going to sell when I get my money back. You know she still owns No tell Nortel. I think its worth. 20 or something. I don't know it may not even trade anymore. That's a grave lesson for you all .If you've taken a bath on a stock and you keep telling yourself your going to sell when it reaches what you paid , ha , get rid of it now before it goes to 0 . Nortel was basically a scam. They were deliberately fudging their financials to attract more investors while the ship was sinking. Same as Bre-X adding gold to the samples and telling everyone it was real. And while there are lessons to be learned from those stories, there are all kinds of companies that have come back and then some. I bought Capstone for .54 when they were dealing with some ...more

Not so sure that Nortel was simply a scam. IMO, Nortel might have failed at least in part because it got lazy with its cybersecurity, and didn’t adequately protect its intellectual properties.  "Unnamed" foreign tech firms were reputed to have infiltrated the company, and to have hacked its networks. They then stole N's existing technology as well as tech in development, and ...more
