Therapy Time

Being long a stock and talking the price down is just dumb economic behaviour.  Not having a position and trying to talk a stock down so you can buy a position at a cheaper price makes good economic sense. Being short the stock and talking the price down makes good economic sense.

To be long a stock and bash it is contrary to your financial well being and requires some psychological analysis to determine why you would sabotage your own interests!

You actually believe thart others will either buy or sell a stock just because someone expressed frustration and bashed it with no significant facts, or someone pumped it with no significant facts? Only the naive. And out of 50 or 60 people that read these posts, how many are going to act on such useless emotional outbursts?? Hardly a market mover IMO

Oh I believe alright.  The shareholder base is unfortunately filled with exactly that type of retail investor who is infomed by the rants and raves of participants on this Board.. I've watched your own complaining/bashing over the years too.  You bought some bonds and paid too much for them.  However you never took advantage of the opportunities that the bonds have provided on ...more

The bonds have provided opportunities??? You are dreaming in technicolor. Opportunities to what?? Sell for a 50% loss. Even though the 26s are at 80, let's not forget they cut the bondholders in half. Ya there is an opportunity to sell at a huge less. That's all the opportunity there is

Oh my gawd - you are so busy whinning about spilled milk that you have missed countless trading opportunities in the bonds 1.  You could have bought the predecessor bonds around 50 cents on the $1.00 around 2017 and tendered them to the dutch offer +/- 90 depending upon the issue in 2018.(almost a double) 2.  After the reorg (and the hatchet job done to the bonds) you could have bought ...more

Hindsight is 20/20 isn't it. Could have should have. Yes I'm aware of all those events. I've traded bonds but not sherritt bonds. I only trade bonds when I see a solid company. Gsins are less but the outcome is reasonably assured. With sherritt I only want my money back. Bought them in 2011 and would NEVER buy another cent of them l. This company is a joke today. In 2011 it was a solid ...more

Was i supposed to buy at 50 cents and the wait to get 90 on the Dutch auction. In he duch auction they only bought back a set amount so if I bought 10000 at 50 and then they only bought back from me 40% would that work out. Make a little and get stuck with more junk. No than you

I believe in the end they took everything that was tendered....

Agreed Strato!

100k bond was reduced to 55k and even that 55k is now at 81 so you can get 45k for it. Where is the opportunity??? Maybe 4 or 5 hears ago before they cut them in half they were trading at 50 so even then you'd only get 50k for a 100k bond. What f__  opportunity are you talking about? I'd like to know
Comment by Stratocheif on May 20, 2023 7:31pm
And yes the PIK bonds are essentially worth nothing. First of all you WILL NEVER get I dime from them in interest no matter how many years pass so your recouping of any of that money just doesn't happen. And IF sherritt should run into difficulties years from now and faces restructuring they will pay NOTHING on these because they are the lowest on the claim ladder
