Volatility and the bottom

I believe the big swings in the last couple weeks are signs the market is bottoming. This very volatile trend could go on for awhile yet...but think we are close. I picked up SHOP on the last dip at 34.75 and would definately add again around that level.

Angler101...with a comment like that I would suspect you must be quite the gold bug...and no, my optimism is not misguided...the market is in the process of bottoming. Anything below 35 on SHOP is a good entry point.

Condor, no, I don’t currently own any gold, and the bottom is falling out of it, just like everything else. I have only a couple  hundred shares in SHOP, with which I try to play the swings (somewhat unsuccessfully I might add)....I don’t know how old you are, but I’m in my 60’s, which makes me old enough to have lived through several recessions....one of several issues (besides of course the

Angler101...If you have been investing for decades you should know that the market will always come back...it is just the way it is...I dont know why so many think it is going to different this time...because it isnt. The markets will recover (like I said in my past threads, I believe we are scrapping the bottom at this time).

Angler101...Sold all my shares for a very nice gain in less than 2 weeks. Like I posted...buying SHOP for a trade on that dip below 35 was a steal.

The market always comes back, but not all stocks do. Kodak, Nortel, Blackberry, Bombardier, GE and I could easily list a few hundred more.
