Solaris vs. Filo

I would argue that they are difficult to compare. Filo doesn't even have a resource beyond the OP scenario. That system is wide open. Solaris' resources are partial given that most of the system has yet to be drilled. Solaris is indeed an OP scenario, so costs will be much lower than an UG operation. The other huge advantage is that Solaris concentrate will be clean and free of deleterious elements. Dealing with deleterious elements isn't insurmountable but it does add to processing cost. Filo's advantage is that it is a Cu-Au system, with grades high enough to render it extremely attractive. I personally prefer to spread my risk around and not concentrate on one particular play, so I have many tier 1 copper producers and juniors in my portfolio.

Well, actually, Filo's presentation does give resource numbers, split between oxide and non-oxide tonnes. These numbers, of course, are far from final, but you could say the same of Solaris' tonnes. Re grade, Solaris runs about .5% CuEq recoverable. They have a higher grade starter pit but across the whole deposit it's .5, or so I understand. Filo is about .3 or .35 Cu but when you ...more

That resource for Filo is for the near-surface OP tonnes (silver zone). There is no published resource for the kilometric-scale targets they have been exploring, the ones with 1000 metre plus intercepts. That is why Filo has such a high valuation; it is wide-open.
