I used to think like you do and that almost ruined me a few years back. I had a good stock that's in the same situation as SMF now. I kept buying and buying thinking "I'll show them". Well, the joke was on me at the end. I was too overweight in that stock and then came the bad news. Of course the bad news was not expected when everything looked so rosy then.
Investment is not an emotional undertaking, don't ever fall in love with a stock. I'm sure we heard that often enough. We should be like the "Godfather" - it's just business. With no end is insight, like the short massacre here with SMF, and you have a small profit to protect (before it all evaporated) you should act accordingly.
Let's all act rationally.
