Clue #1

Clue #1"Slate Office REIT (TSX: SOT.UN) (the "REIT"), an owner and operator of high-quality workplace real estate, announced today that each of the trustee nominees listed in the management information circular of the REIT dated March 23, 2022 were elected ...."

,,,, but with the Against vote scoring 40-43% for each of the trustees, this is hardly a ringing endorsement for the Welch Brothers and their team!

Having read this announcement, I recalled receiving a cold call in about a week or two ago ... the caller was from an agency hired by Slate Office to call investors and ask them if they had received their documents and had voted. I replied to the affirmative. Then I was asked how I had voted ... to which I replied "Why should I reveal to you how I voted?". The caller stammered a bit and said thank you for confirming that you have voted. I now surmise that they had an inkling that something was amiss with their usual order of business and that a revolt was brewing in the ranks.

Needless to say I voted my units (and my daughter's unit since I manage her account) Against the recommended Trustee nominees! Apparently, a lot of other investors did the same. Kudos to all!
