SIR Royalty Income Fund (the Fund) holds investment in SIR Corp (SIR). The Funds' investment, SIR is engaged in the business of owning and operating full-service restaurants in Canada. SIR has concept restaurant brands, including Jack Astor’s Bar and Grill, Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar, and Canyon Creek Chop House, signature restaurant brands, such as Reds Wine Tavern, Reds Midtown Tavern, Reds Square One, and The Loose Moose, which are used by SIR under a license agreement with SIR Royalty Limited Partnership (the Partnership. The Fund receives distribution income from its investment in the Partnership and interest income from the SIR Loan. The Fund indirectly participates in the revenues generated under the License and Royalty Agreement through its Investment in the Partnership.

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:No trolls on green daysThe rotation into some of the beaten up pandemic sectors like financials is under way. But the hospitality, travel, energy industries have yet to receive investor blessing. Timing is uncertain, almost impossible.

As for SIR, Jacks and Scaddabush, which serve as the backbone to the company, are well liked brands and will survive this. I think Canyon Creek will not make it through and some of the downtown Reds/Dukes will also be affected the longer the work from home move is in effect, which for some will be permanent. Downtowns will take awhile to recover from this pandemic even with a vaccine.

Net result, SIR will be a smaller but stronger company which could open up an opportunity to move into another emerging culinary offering or perhaps expand on the take out business which they are currently weak in. SIR is lead by a strong management team and due to their small size can adapt quickly to industry changes.
