A quick flipper could short the stock at $6.35, and close his position on the 18th when the deal closes. However, I understand the Scotia shares were 2x oversold, and that 17 new institutions have jumped on board STB. Fabulous. This stock will continue to go up from here.

Which is exactly what I did.   I got 10000 shares and sold the 10000 I had. But, I have to wonder why they would offer at well below the past 30 days number - it should have been at the 30 day average IMO. I've held this a long time, but this is the kind of move that they have made before and flys in the face of people that bought over the past month. I hate garbage like that.  But ...more

You got 1000 shares on that offering, will you share how many you asked for from which brokerage? Curious how I can be at my computer get an email about the offering, immediately go to the buy page and the offering is already closed. As for the offering price, it is right in line with other recent offerings of common stock. Have a look at a recent large cap offering by TRP.  IMO this exit of ...more

rehsifylf; The company didn't offer any shares for sale, a larger holder SNCF Railway sold their share position through some of the banks. In fact the company bought back 5% of the total company or almost 50% of the shares that firm held and at a discount. so answer to your question.
