HRC: Prices rise on higher mill offer

Steel prices have dropped a fair amount in the last couple of days. This article seems to indicate the demand is still outstrpping the supply.

Steel prices up nicely today. I wonder if the lower prices the past few days has anything to do with month end . I don't have info on what drives steel prices , but nice to see them recover today. In any case , always keep in mind that there cost per ton is $600 so $1700 0r $1800 U.S. is still HUGE profits!

Yes, prices rose, then fell again. Steel prices are a bit up and down. But I suspect that last week STLC share prices rose quite a bit, and now it's falling back some. At least the stock is/was low enough to buy more shares. I don't quite understand why people/institutions would be selling now at just $40 when they are about to release earnings.  Prices on the New York CME are ...more
