Dividend
Why would people sell today? Pays out $3.42 a share after the close today you whoever is holding. See in your account Nov 28. Why sell today? Or will it be a dumpster fire tomorrow?

The ex-dividend date was November 21. Your buy order had to be executed on or before November 20 to get the dividend of 42 cents and the Special dividend of $3.00.

The new bulletin said holders of close as of Nov 22 for the dividend.

I bought a few shares on November 20. This was the day before the ex-dividend date of November 21. The settlement date for my purchase was November 22. I got the dividend on the 28th (today). Perhaps "holders of close" refers to the settlement date.

This is in the article from this site::: Declaration of Dividends Stelco Holdings' Board of Directors approved the payment of a special dividend of $3.00 per share and an ordinary quarterly dividend of $0.42 per share, both of which will be paid on November 28, 2023, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on November 22, 2023.
