I agree...although there are a lot of other dumb bunnies out there as well - AOC and "The Squad" in the US come to mind.
The other issue WRT to EVs is the environmental issue of what to do with all the batteries when they hit the end of their useful lives...landfills?.....NYMBY!!
The irony in all of this is that these politicans will make decisions to limit oil production thinking that will help when in fact they will end up increasing the price of oil for those producers which have solid reserves and low decline rates. Further since the Saudis are already heavy into secondary recovery in their elephant oil fields it is just a matter of time before they will not be able to hold production levels up without massive investment in new oil fields.
Frankly I see a future where security of electricity supply for businesses will become a major concern....we already saw a hint of that not long ago in Texas.
