I bought VET , NVA and CR for pennies after they crashed with all the rest after the 1 st covid scare followed by the Saudi/ Russian oil feud and oil went to zero. I sold Vermilion last week. It's gone parabolic just like CNQ . Never a good idea chasing parabolics.... in time you will learn that ...... the risk has gone up substantially in those companies you mentioned.

I never chase a stock because it's gone parabolic. I actually run away from it. I look more into the company's fundamentals and see if it's still undervalued. I also look into why it's gone parabolic. Was it hype that drove up the stock price or was it funds buying. I would sell when I feel that the share price is getting closer to its fair valuation.

I have not sold VET partly because I think it's still very good value and the company will do much better in 2022, and partly because I trust Travis Wood.  He raised the PT to $30 and maintains his "Buy" recommendation.  Other people's knowledge also makes up part of my decision on whether or not to buy or sell a stock.

I'll take a look at the tickers you mentioned above and see how they compare to the ones I own.  Thank you for your advice.

I'm not suggesting you buy the companies I owned........my point is, look for value in companies/ sectors that are depressed but future fundamentals are strong.......where nobody's interested. Not easy to find these days btw. Someone on here mentioned the possibility of a rough road ahead. I'm guessing he's older like some of us and been through a few down turns in his life. I tend to agree with him. High inflation and elevated energy prices........I to feel we're on our way to a deep recession at the very least . The millenials don't even know what that is.
