RE:Knowing when to sellAnother great post Obscure. I appreciate your frankness and willingness to share
with others in such an open and free manner. I have been in the markets for over
50 yrs now and I can tell you that I wished many times I had others around me to
share with. We are all students of the markets no matter how many years of investin
and I know I have made exactly the same mistakes many times over for exactly the
same reasons. Its uncanny how my investment style is so similar. I am with you a
1000% in putting in so much work before you invest but then having to struggle
even harder in letting go. I think its a natural human emotion but often very deadly
when it comes to the market.
As for ego and wanting to be right instead of accepting what the market is really
saying, BINGO again. I have seen many investors hold stox for years not because
they believe in them but simply because their precious egos will not allow them
to accept a loss. Yes, sometimes they do make it back, but I don't consider
holding something for years and eventually beaking even a win. The cost of lost
opportunity is staggering IMO. Thanks again for your post. It was both instructive and enlightening and I wish you continued good fortune even though I suspect
it is not luck or good fortune but rather your ability to better handle your ego and
your emotions.
