- a lot of the FRONT-END ENGINEERING and SURVEYING work has already been done
- most of the capital gets spent in the 2027-2029 timeframe
- FIRST-PHASE to be COMPLETED by 2030 (about 30% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the 2019 BASE)
- the federal and provincial governments have already issued the INVESTMENT TAX CREDIT guidelines but the industry wants MUCH MORE
- Canadian petroleum companies want the Canada/Alberta governments to PAY FOR ~ 75% of the TOTAL CAPITAL COST while the industry absorbs 25 % of the total capital cost PLUS the ANNUAL operating EXPENSES {which are NOT going to be CHEAP since the CCS technology requires CONSUMABLES to work}
