RE:RE:ExpierencedYes as Yuri eloquently points out...this is multi stage, long term project and we are now beginning to see the fruits of their efforts.
I recall, even for my generation, my Grade 12 history teacher was a communist. In the first semester he assigned the essay topics to each student in the class. Mine was "South America - The Aftermath of US Imperialism". My girlfriend at the time had this for a topic - "Socialism - The Happy Medium"
When my Dad saw my topic and that of my girlfriend he talked to other parents. The next year that teacher was not in our Board anymore. Have no idea where he went but I suspect he ended up teaching somewhere else.
The thing now, IMO, is that in university they have moved from teaching students "how to think" to "what to think". I actually had a conversation with a friend this past Winter who was saying that he had had a discussion with his teenage Granddaughter about an essay topic she was working on and she said to him "Grandpa, I can't write that or I will get a "C or D". I have to say "this" if I want to get an A and get accepted into university next year.
Sad but true!!
