The OT part....

In Nashville , this young woman went into a school and killed three innocent children and three school staff before she was shot and killed by the police.  She had a history of mental illness and even her parents took one of her guns away.  Yet with this history, she was able to buy seven guns including two assault rifles under US law from FIVE gun shops!!  Apparently the purchase of these weapons was legal in the US despite her mental illness!!!

Soooo...What is not OT?

The politicians that allow these things to happen are the same people who are orchestrating the transition to a less carbon world and destroying the natural economic infrastucture for this transition....A scary thought.

As an investor, this underlines my thesis that smart investors need to recognize that this idiocy will generate investment opportunities... do your homework and make money from it..

20% of US or more suffer from mental illness, likely far more if you count depression. The strict laws on privacy make it impossible to know who is going to be a shooter. How do the politician help, make all mental records public? What homework do we do to benefit moneywise from this again?  What stock do you suggest?

Great questions. I would add another.  Why is the US so much worse than any other developed country in the world? Part of the answer to this questions leads to possible answers to your questions. So much of this in the US centres around Second Ammendment rights.  Yet the SCOTUS in a number of decisions has shown a way forward but politicans refuse to follow this path. For example, a

O boy I remember what that joke of a gun registration cost in Canada.  Suppose to be a few million then at the end it was over a billion of wasted tax payer dollars.  Bet it would cost a few trillion in the US for the amount of guns they have  Guns are ingrained in the US way of life and there not going away.  There country and there rules  Honestly I'm more in

I suppose.  The problem is that Governments have a way of screwing up the simplest thing and then it costs way more than it should.  Just look at Government personnel management system Phoenix that still isn't working years later....the cost of trying to fix it is now more than the original cost!!!
