will be testing that soon, close to $78 now

China and India will be stock piling $70s oil along with the $60 oil they get from Russia, topping up their SPRs ahead of winter while others take an afternoon nap

the calm before the storm? ukraine/US - russia war: on going, nothing solved israel/US - palestine/hamas/hezbollah/iran generational war:  can escalate Taiwan/US - china: ongoing, players positioning their naval power around taiwan  US fed will need to print USD again.

Iran won't like the oil price being driven down, will blame manipulation on US hedge funds, this is probably when they will do something to get the middle east war premium back into the price

liljohhny...agreed that they don't like lower oil prices but frankly the only real way for them to get oil prices up runs the risk of being attacked bty the US and having their oil infrastructure destroyed.  This is not an outcome that helps them. So what we will see is continued rhetoric and skirmishes by proxies none of which will cause oil prices to go up as we have seen since the ...more

mrbb..a few things... In regards to one and two we disagree as per my earlier post. But each to their own Point 3....Taiwan would result in a spike in oil prices initially and then a collapse due to a massive recession due to a semiconductor/supply chain problem Point 4....the Fed isn't going to print excessive money for a while.  They are in the process of reducing their balance sheet ...more

point 3...china is just huffing and puffing. i don't believe china has the firepower. I do wish CCP attack taiwan, it would accelerate the demise of CCP, IMO.  Obviously you didn't read Sun Tzu Point 4... i didnt give timeline. Think you need to reread this thread....start with your own original thesis about the calm befpre the storm 1.... read what you said about Taiwan in your first post suggesting that a conflict there would raise oil prices.  I agree with you that China doesn't have the firepower to win.  I actually talked about this in a post a long time ago.  My point is that the vulnerbility of ...more
