No dividends, no buyers.

Suncor has gone down the toilet under Mark "The big man" Little's leadership.

Terrible alignment with long term shareholders.

Not sure the US after-hours market agrees with that assessment ($21 +0.49 (+2.39%) as of 8 p.m.), results are pretty darn good... Managemnent is playing the long game, you want short term div., go invest in the pipes (i.e. PPL).

There is no longterm in oil stocks. More and more large pension funds refuse to hold and most retail think the end is in sight.the only thing that will attract retail is a sizeable divy. If Suncor pays out dividends instead of buybacks in Q2, thats a 63 cent quarterly dividend or $2.51 annual. 9.8%. Does anyone seriously believe the stock would be $25.68 under that alternative use of funds? Absolutely not - more like $35.68 (7%). Or more. And to quote John Maynard Keynes, in the long run we're all dead.

They don't respect retail investors. Heck, they don't even respect gas buyers - Chevron, Journie and CIBC is a way better deal (8-11 cents off+ goodies) than Petro and RBC (3cents). Buffett of course figured this out and quickly bailed. They dont have their eyes on the prize. We will get pummeled tomorrow.
