Dividend play

CVE just released their latest ER. Outstanding results plus big news for shareholders bringing the div to .42 quarterly. Having this in perspective, Suncor shareholders which are invested in SU for the div only may choose to double their div by exiting SU and opening CVE positions. Makes sense? We'll have to see if SU comes up with a similar move to reward investors. Thoughts on the topic?

You have it wrong. CVE new dividend is $0.42 per year. Not per quarter. About 2% per year.

SU will have a nasty surprise for investors again this quarter. The management and BOD are the worst in the industry and they have effed shareholders in the A for the last few years. Expect that to continue when they release their earnings and inform shareholders of more accidents at their sites and protracted downtime. The only constant with SU is ...more

Why do people insist on peddling the nonsense that somehow Suncor is under performing? My investment in Suncor is doing very well this last 12 - 18 months. Slowly though surely the SP is rising not to mention the dividend. I'll bet there is an AARK or FAANG investor or two who would gladly go back in time and swap positions. The entire sector has gone up by 3-5x and SU has only gone up by less than 2x. The management is completely useless at SU and shareholders are suffering sub-optimal returns and this will continue until they fire Little and replace the BOD!

Wow. Half the daily US volume in less than 15 minutes. Nice start, lots more upside to come, and Suncor is the name most can remember. Tons of news talk on the channels about how undervalued the energy sector is and Americans are now climbing over themselves trying to get in all at once. Like elephants through a keyhole. But we all knew this was coming. Bring it on...!
