Nuttal

Eric Nuttal,  love him or hate him,  in a rcent interview about Trideau's remark re
no economic case for LNG in Canada at this time.

His response in which he prefaced his comments with "as polite as I can be"  it
would be the equivalent of bulding 10 hospitals a year or.....

Alternatively it would be the equivalent to reducing as much carbon from burning
coal as elimnating every ICE vehicle from Canada.

While his responses lack hard numbers to back up his point,  they are still quite
astounding.  And that is just one 1 LNG facilty on the East Coast.

Now from a guy who may not be perceived as the most pro environmentalist among
analysts,  he presented a picture that surely must have resonated among even the
most hardcore of anti fossil activists including the PM himself.  If it didn't then I
don't know what would except an unequivoacal "termination" at the voting booth.

canada use to led the LNG race, ahead of US, Australia, indonesia, etc but red tape from ottawa had led the cancellation many LNG plans for asia export. Petronas even rush out and bought Progress Energy in 2012 to secure NG supply for export to malaysia, all in vain.  Without going into detail, my personal view is, i think exporting LNG is an expensive way to get energy because it is a ...more

Nuttall makes a good point.  He started off refering to the US LNG 12BCF which is 8x what Shell's LNG Canada phase I will produce. Which is less than 1% of worldwide non renewable energy consumption.  I'm guessing the cost to extract NG is around $15 per BOE, prices around the world of course are much higher than this.  But he vastly underestimates the tax revenue potential. ...more

I've been beating the LNG drum for several years now but there is nothing anyone can say or do when you have a duly elected PM clinging to power with his climate change and anti fossil fuel narrative buddies,  the NDP.  They are tone deaf to the  opportunities and want to steer Canada to renewables despite virtually every country except Canada who signed the Paris Accord having ...more

MS: We won't have another election for several years as long as the NDP continue to be Trudeau's little biatches. The NDP offered up their support to Trudeau in a similar manner that Bernie and AOC agreed to back Biden.  Look how that has worked out for everyone but the Democratic left. I don't blame Trudeau for holding onto power by whatever means necessary.  The guy has ...more

To respond to the last point first.....No,  he has only his self interest in holding on to power and secondly to advance his climate change ideology to the detriment of Canadians. When you lack common sense,  you are unable to even compromise let alone be pragmatic.   That is the problem with zealots and extremism in general.   Once they get an idea in their head.  it' ...more

JT's long ambition is to rub shoulders with the UN elites.  Traveling the world, being a PM is just a stepping stone to build up his credential to land a UN big wig position. Since his intelligent isn't good enough, many world leaders snubbed him. There wasn't any UN job offering. His alliance with the WEF and Soros is his new calling.  All IMO.  Snubbed by Trump, by ...more

Only reason the NDP won't call an early election is I believe once 2025 hits a bunch of them have served 8 years and get that golden pension

many thinks the liberal gov't is anti oil which true but their prime motive is to neuter western growing power derived from oil/gas and agriculture.  Trudeau just signed a deal to supply germany with hydrogen by 2025, not LNG but likely hydrogen produced from east coast using windpower. Those oil/gas companies throwing money into blue hydrogen development to meet their self declared net ...more
