Solid state batteries

I am no scientist but the i trust the price action and it tells me that this techology
while promissing is not for tomorrow.Quantumscape (QS) is down 15% on that news.
and it's down from a high of more than $120 in Dec. 2020.

It reminds me Ballard Power.In early 2000, all the hype was about hydrogen fuel cells.
Cars and buses would all be propeled in a not to distant futur buy these fuel cells.

Well fast forward 23 years.There are some application for these cells but i am still 
looking around for massive cars and bus adoption.

Don't get me wrong, solid state or another technology may come to replace ICE but
i will believe it when i see it.

-QuantumScape Corporation (NYSE: QS), a leader in developing next-generation solid-state lithium-metal batteries, today commenced a proposed underwritten public offering of shares of its Class A common stock.

QuantumScape intends to offer $300 million of shares of its Class A common stock for working capital and general corporate purposes.

Good points life... Toyota in a PR says that they will introduce one in their 2027 model year.  We will see if they deliver or not on their forecast. In the meantime liquid batteries keep getting more powerful.

hmm so toyota moved the target to 2027. Last i remembered it was 2025. It does seem SS battery is more challenging in engineering (reality) than marketing (the hype)

But if they get it right, it will probably be the best battery type on the market.
