CLUELESS Ford CEO Take F150 Lighting EV For A DRIVE

- LOL for his SHOCKING SURPRISE

*  took him 40 MINUTES to CHARGE his PICKUP electric battery pack 40% of the ELECTRIC CHARGE CAPACITY using the LOW POWER CHARGER

"Charging has been pretty challenging," Farley said during a short video posted on Twitter. "It was a really good reality check of the challenges our customers go through, and the importance of fast-charging."

- I have to give Jim Farley FULL-CREDIT for putting himself in his CUSTOMER'S SHOES and WITNESSING the ROTTEN TRADEOFF between a DIESEL-POWERED and a ELECTRIC BATTERY-POWERED Ford F150 PICKUP - 850 MILES travelled with a 3.0 LITER TURBO V6 POWER STROKE DIESEL engine {developed in partnership with PSA (Peugeot-Citroen)} in a F150 Diesel on ONE 26 GALLON tankload https://www.thedrive.com/new ...more

hmm, there is a saying time is money. I wonder how much it cost of his time waiting for charging. That cost should be added to the total cost of EV ownership. We can't just ignore 1/2 hr here and there as meaningless. On fast charging electricity cost a bit more, and. battery degrade faster in higher amperage charging. There is no free lunch.

I hope that CEO saw this video of a Lightning F150 owner from Winnipeg who apparently has some pretty good buyer's remorse. This video popped up on my YouTube list yesterday and is about 2-weeks old now but does it tell a story, and an expensive one. 'BIGGEST SCAM': Man's electric truck purchase turns into nightmare

During my trip to China in 2108, I observed as many or more  Mercedes S 450 cars than in Germany, but many had no licence plates. I asked the Chinese tour guide why is that. He said that getting a licence and ISURANCE takes time, as the cars are insured for 100% replacement value and the costt of instance is almost the same as the purchase price. That said, buying That Tesla would be the same ...more

so you're saying buying auto insurance in china is an option for car drivers?
Comment by bttmfischer on Sep 03, 2023 3:41pm
I cannot speak for the Chinese, but from what the tourguide said was that getting a licence, and getting a car insured at the same time is compulsory. in China. As we heard, China is under a dictatorship system, and our adored(by a few morons) PM is referred to, as a superior mode of governing. He is working to emulate the Chinese way I beleive.
