- there are CONCERNS that there is a SHORTAGE OF QUALIFIED workers to BUILDOUT the MASSIVE CARBON CAPTURE and STORAGE (CCS) project in Alberta by the SIX oilsands companies members Pathways Alliance

- Suncor Energy is one of the six members

  hehe the thing I would be worried about is getting the pipeline built through the reserves.  You can't get anything built in this country

- the 400 kilometer CO2 pipeline will MOSTLY PASS through EXISTING pipeline RIGHT-OF-WAY - right now, the BIGGEST HURDLE is the INFERIOR Government of Canada FINANCIAL SUPPORT (investment tax credits, operating tax credits, carbon pricing REDUCTION OFFSETS etc.) - the Liberals/NDP minority government is STRAIGHT OUT INCOMPETENT and do NOT REALIZE the MAGNITUDE and COST REQUIRED to REDUCE ...more

merimat...Yeah for sure.  Long are the days when a friend of mine who was a senior guy at Nova  Corp at the time had to go to a reserve because the Chief on the reserve was blockading the construction of a pipeline through the reserve.  When my friend got there he noticed a satelite dish and asked the Chief what the dish was for and the Chief responded that they used the dish to ...more

merimat....interesting story here...as many here know - I am a history buff... 1....the Indians that got the 60 guilders worth of stuff (they actually didn't get cash) were not people who had the authority to give up the island...so it was actually a scam 2....the leadership of the Indians there at the time when told of the "sale" believed that they were renting the land - not ...more
