* they will NOT INTERFERE as long as the Israeli are CAREFUL NOT to TARGET the Russians in Syria

- the Russians have DEADLY SUPERSONIC ANTI-SHIP missiles BASED IN SYRIA that could SINK the US NUCLEAR CARRIERS and their ESCORTS

- the Russians are INCREASINGLY HOSTILE to the CURRENT PM of Isreal as Israel is REPUTED to be SENDING 155mm artillery shells to UKRAINE {which will NOW STOP as they NEED THEM to FIGHT Hamas and company}

* BEFORE, the Russians were PRO-ISRAEL in that large numbers of Russian J-@-W-S EMMIGRATED from the Soviet Union to Israel and PUTIN COURTED THEM

* however, the Russians are PIVOTING from being PRO-ISRAEL to being PRO-ARAB for a WHOLE BUNCH OF REASONS

* do NOT forget that Iran is SUPPLYING Russia with LARGE NUMBERS of DRONES that are used VERY EFFECTIVELY in the Ukrainian War and they are CO-BUILDING a HUGE PRODUCTION facility of the Iranian drones in Russia {the Russians have DRAMATICALLY IMPROVED the IRANIAN drones with their ADVANCED MILITARY TECHNOLOGY}

- the Russians have VASTLY SUPERIOR ELECTRONIC WARFARE CAPABILTY (they are RATED the BEST in the world; far ahead of the US)  that even the EXTREMELY COMPETENT Israeli Air Force FEAR THEM

Alot of good insight on SU board, help assembling pieces of the geo-political/economic puzzle together to understand parameters affecting oil//gas. your postulation sound plausible on the surface but i have some doubt on them: 1.  Why would Bashar al-Assad expects big trouble coming when he gained a new and powerful alliy, China? 2. In term of seeking a safe refuge, Mr and Mrs al-Assad's 3 children were born and raised in Syria during the civil war.  The children are adults now. I can't see them in more danger now than
