Analysis of Acquisition: Favourable to Whom?

"National Bank Financial analyst Jaeme Gloyn sees no obstacles to Telus Corp.’s  $2.9-billion acquisition of LifeWorks Inc., calling the terms of the deal “favourable.”"
****************************************************
In an era of tumbling markets with the bottom still far from sight, it is a good time to strike opportunistic deals; we all know that.
But at a PREMIUM of 89 %??????......I ask as a Telus shareholder.
Bankers will naturally couch it in soothing terms, but then they are paid handsomely.
This deal brought back some bitter tastes in my mouth.  Tastes that had long been forgotten.  And the underlying narrative remains untold.
Consider this.  You are rich because you have inherited your dad's company.  You marry into an even richer food empire. You become  the Finance Minister of Canada.  At the peak of your career, alas,  you cannot resist that age old disease of "entitlementitis". "I am entitled to my entitlements", made notorious by another dingbat. You take your family on a deluxe vacation; one that you could easily afford.  Yet you charge the bill of some $40k to another enterprise; a sordid mess of an organization called  WE.

With this deal you're on an easy path from being fabulously wealthy to filthy rich.

Last para of my post is withdrawn as I've learned that WM announced selling his stake in MSI. I still believe that the premium of   89% is unwarranted.  The deal favours the seller not the vendor.

erratum:   "vendor not the buyer."
