Barging questions

Barging questionsI initiated a small position here a few days ago but the thing that is holding me back from making it a large position is the barging.

I would feel more comfortable with a pipeline but understand that it would cost too much as it would be about 100 km away to tie in. Is that correct? Also, maybe a pipleine could be at risk of being attacked?

But how safe and sustainable is barging if we are talking about 10,000 bbls/day for many years? One big spill and it could be a disaster and possibly fatal for this company. I can not recall clearly back then but there were people many years ago when GTE  was planning on bringing this online that said barging was not the answer either not safe enough or economic. I can’t remember the debate from back then. Does anyone remember what the debate sides were back then?

how many barge trips per day would it take to transport 10,000 bbl/day to their destinations? And how many barges would we need and how much does each barge cost?

lots of questions I am wondering about. thanks to anyone who has ideas on the barging issue.
