China plans to purchase aluminum, copper, zinc and lead for state reserves in the following three years, according to a report on China Nonferrous Metals Information Network Friday.
The State Reserve Bureau (SRB) plans to buy one million tons of aluminum, 400,000 tons of copper and
400,000 tons of zinc and lead for reserve in the coming three years, said Jia Mingxing, vice chairman of China Non-ferrous Metals Association in an interview with China Central Television.
According to Jia, SRB have purchased 290,000 tons of aluminum since December 25, 2008 and decided to buy another 300,000 tons of aluminum on February 20.
China Nonferrous Metals Information Network is affiliated to China Non-ferrous Metals Association.
