Copper

CopperHello Mates,

Everyone knows Teck owns the Highland Valley Copper Mine. It is a enormous mine making much money. Notice my alliteration. Here is the crunch. For those Teck players, who play the speculative market, may desire to investigate a company called Happy Creek Minerals, HPY. Why you may ask? HPY has a large property bordering Teck's Highland Valley property. In this property HPY has identified 2 copper zones, Zone 1 and Zone 2. These zones are very close, perhaps 3 miles away from Teck's production. Now HPY has been drilling and has been producing results which are comparable to what Teck is mining. Teck is mining 0.26% copper grade. HPY has been drilling a grade in that ball park. Today, after market, HPY announced they drilled 77.5 metres of 0.31% copper with 3.3 gram silver.

Will Teck eventually partner or buy HPY out to secure more copper reserves? The Highland Valley Mine uses three pits in their production and mining is slated to end in 2019. To make matters more interesting, the main pit is cracked and is affecting production. Will Teck ignore this company or will they want to increase the life line of their mine? Please do your own due diligence and proceed to what you believe. Cheers.
