Analyst favorite metal stock
Morgan Stanley analyst Carlos De Alba said he sees material downside to consensus estimates for Alcoa (AA), and expects the stock will face downward pressure and underperform as negative earnings revisions materialize.
De Alba thinks mining stocks in general "may continue their recent move higher on sentiment around China stimulus for a bit longer, but we don't think the rally is sustainable."
The analyst's top pick in the sector is Teck Resources (TECK), seeing value in the company's asset base and free cash flow rising in the coming years post QB2 completion that may result in higher dividends ahead.
