RE:TimingUnfortunately, there's no requirement it be divulged unless their counsel believes it is "material" as to who it may be. So if the company announces something, it would have to be either an industry partner or meaninngful investor who also allows them to disclose this as some institutions are not allowed to discuss holdings until filed in quarterly reports.  Otherwise, if any buyers are over the disclosure limits, they will file those quarterly reports, so March time frame. If no one is over the disclosure limits of either US or Canada, there is no requirement.

My guess is between lose-lipped brokers and the like, there will be enough scuttlebu.t.t. to figure it out one way or the other within the next few weeks.
