The point is for important societal issues we've never let people go it alone and fend for themselves. We've always tried for solidarity, especially if you want to invoke the founder's beliefs about freedom. And it has always included restrictive rules that make sense for the common good and that don't always allow you to make up your mind without consequences. You weren't allowed to go to school without proof of multiple vaccines --EVERY YEAR. Did you moan about being forced too then? I doubt it. You lined up and took the shot so you could go to school. Same for all colleges these days.
An enlightened and functioning society doesn't mean you have the freedom and liberty to do whatever you want when doing so makes the situation worse -- which it does because you may have already given it to someone less robust than you who died. Telling us you were fine so what's the big deal is about as selfish as you can get and show's you don't actually get it at all.
You have actually surrendered to the enemy by being a living petri dish for it to continue to mutate and spread as opposed to bravely contributing to the national efforts by being a strong communal member and doing what is right for the common good so we can get back to a more normal environment FOR ALL, not just for you. We've never been a libertarian society that let's you do whatever you want. Never have been, never will be.
Here's one of your brave and free patriots who knew the importance of the common good of the patriotic citizenry over the selfish private interest of an individual. He would say that what you think is an expression of your "liberty" is exactly the opposite --there is no real liberty if people have no passion for the public interest above their own private interest. Thanks for taking all our liberty away with your inability to act in solidarity and put your own private interest over that of the members of your community who's passion for the public interest empowers your liberty.

Forcing it on individuals is ridiculous. I've had the virus myself with minimal issues. That was a risk I was willing to take and that decision should be left to the individual and nobody else. If you decide to get the Vaccine great but don't force your fears / decisions on others. It should be the individuals choice and nobody elses.
