Get out while you still can

This turd is going nowhere fast.

i would understand if they had only recently started generating revenue, but a few years in and they are just about to hit what..maybe $50mm this year? Are they going to layoff their one sales guy or something? Is each deal worth $10 bucks? I don't get it. If they had something blockbuster they would be in hyper growth mode but they are languishing. 3 plus years into revenu generation and they are picking up pennies on the sidewalk.

better of buying a GIC in this market.

Of course you are entitled to your own opinions, however I am not sure I understand some of your statements, since some are presented as 'fact'. "i would understand if they had only recently started generating revenue, but a few years in and they are just about to hit what..maybe $50mm this year?" questions: - what would you understand? the valuation? the current revenue run ...more

Happy to clarify! For anyone that is hoping and praying that the valuation will go back to $1bn, the current revenue and pace of increase is horrendously slow. Let's say 10x sales for a fast growing software company (50% plus per year let's say) means they need to hit $100mm in rev and still have a decent trajectory for growth. At the current pace - eking out tiny revenue gains ...more

So I want to thank you first off for your elaborate response, I can tell you took some time to draft it. I always appreciate hearing arguments from the other side. I have some follow-up questions, fortunately or unfortunately, and I hope that you will pardon me if the tone is sometimes harsh, it is not meant to be personal, just a reflection of my puzzlement.     “For anyone ...more

Yes companies are valued by other metrics. Net asset value of course as you suggest, but cash on hand can be a bit nebulous. I could value the company including this, but then a couple years of op losses could eat it away and destroy the basis of my valuation. Also I am merely pointing out that the stock is unlikely to go anywhere. Not that the company is worth zero. One of my best investments was ...more

Thanks for all the time and thought you put into that answer. I think what came out of it though is that I don't think I can convince you that this would be a decent investment, and I don't think you can convince me of the opposite so it's probably best out of respect for our mutual time and happiness that we just leave it there. I wish you the best.

Well that's disappointing. I was very curious to hear your thoughts.

I am sorry you feel this way, but I am quite busy and I respectfully disagree: most of my questions remain unanswered in my opinion - you wrote a lot, but I don't think you grasped the spirit of my questions. Fundamentally, I did not read anywhere in your answers reference to a key number - outstanding share count - crucial in any valuation exercise. I don't think you are as concerned ...more

Interesting. Outstanding share count is factually irrelevant in a valuation exercise. Whether a company has 150mm shares at $1 each or 15mm shares at $10 each doesn't affect its valuation at all. Please explain how outstanding shares would have anyt effect on the value of the company? I don't actually have a position in this stock, although I could see why you might think I had shorted it ...more

Sorry, I am not in the business of providing free financial education, so I guess you will have to find your answers elsewhere. I just meant that we cannot help one another here.

I might dispute that irrelevant comment. People are cheap and IMO are more likely to buy those cheap shares at $1 than $10 shares. In other news ATB calling for a triple. Hey man power to you. I just call it like I see it. A 'valuation exercise' usually results in an estimated net present value estimate. You then divide that by number of shares outstanding to get a value per share which you could then theoretically compare to the current SP and decide whether this was a buy or sell recommendation.  With no earnings, such a valuation is difficult. The ...more

Hey Northman Where you been?   We all miss your insightful comments.   Its your old pal Chesterchew from Crl..well now its IAI  Infinitii   after fall name change.    A year ago you came on the board advising everyone to get out while they still could.    Judging by your comments on other boards, seems to be your schtick.   You ...more

Hi Chester! it's not my shtick actually.. I strongly believe in the future of some companies. However you just seem to find yourself on the bull side of companies I believe will waste investors money year after year. Actually if we're being honest I just think Thinkific isn't going anywhere. I don't think it's a terrible company. CARL Data Solutions, however, was obviously a ...more

Very few juniors make money so sooner or later they re gone.  By that fact you re right alot of the time.    it seems you only go by balance sheet which I agree is telling but in iai  case not the story.  So in 6 months IAI will either be out of business because no one will fund it or share price will be north of .50$ because their software technology is state of the art ...more
