Jeff Scott serves as Chairman of the Board at Gran Tierra Energy. GTE is an oil and gas exploration and production company. All their assets are in South America; Colombia, Brazil, Peru and Argentina. They have no assets in Africa. This is why TID had to dispose of their African business. It is of no use to GTE. GTE does their own exploration. Having their own oil rigs would decrease their operating costs. GTE has no debt and at end of Sept 2013 had $350MM in cash and cash equivalents. You don't have to be a genius to put this together.
