Inflation is based upon lack of labor and too much cash out there. No amount of interest tightening will solve that. People who want jobs have jobs and they are demanding high wages. So spending will continue. This economic situation is a huge tax on the baby boomer generation that is now retirement age and on fixed incomes.
in the US adding millions and millions of undocumented immigrants puts pressure on the housing market from the bottom up. Construction cannot keep up with demand, which creates more demand for workers, higher pay, higher inflation, and more reason for undocumented immigration.
copper cannot stay at $3.50 pound in this environment in my opinion. Of course China is a different matter and drives the price as well.
